PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS

The NFL playoffs begin today.  This promises to be a fun playoff season. Let's take a look at the matchups and give our predictions.

The first game is the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tennessee Titans.  Both teams have had great Seasons but I am taking the Chiefs and this one. It will be a very competitive game to the end but Kansas City will move on to the next round.

The late game on Saturday is Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams.  The Rams have had a magical season and are the heavy favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. But the Falcons come in at a quiet 10-6 and their offense has been clicking lately. I have the Falcons winning by a touchdown in this one.

These are my picks for today's NFL Wild Card round. Tomorrow I will have the predictions for the other two Wild card games.

CARSON PALMER CALLS IT QUITS

Yesterday the Arizona Cardinals were informed they would have to replace Bruce Arians because he has decide to retire.

Today the retirement bug bit again.  This time it was quarterback Carson Palmer.   The veteran QB who missed most of the season with injury announced in a letter to fans.

The Cardinals were most likely going to draft a quarterback in this years draft anyway but the announcement still hurts the team.

They will go into next season with a new coach and QB.  Now the big question is will Larry Fitzgerald follow this pattern and decide to retire?

ARIANS RETIRES AS WINNINGEST CARDINALS COACH

Yesterday the Arizona Cardinals knocked the Seattle Seahawks out of the playoffs with a 26-24 victory in Seattle.

The win was huge for the Cardinals. It is always nice beating you're division rival, and nicer when you end their season.

The win gave the Cardinals an 8-8 record.  Not the season they wanted, but with all the injuries this season it is nice to say its not a losing season.

Just one day after the big win another big story hit.  Bruce Arians has decided to retire after 5 seasons with the team.  Arians leaves as the winningest coach in Cardinals history with 50 wins.

The retirement isn't a huge surprise.  Arians was hospitalized twice during last season and his health maybe a major factor to the decision.

Arians had double digit wins in his first 3 seasons in Arizona.  He only had 1 losing season.  Arians took the team to the playoffs twice.

Now the Arizona Cardinals must replace Arians, and they better do it fast if they want Larry Fitzgerald to come back next year.
